Dolly-Parton

born on January. 19th of 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her life by using her vivid and far-ranging imagination. Songs were written by her before she was able to write or read. Within 8 years she got her first guitar. At age 11, she began to sing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. Her first album was recorded during the same year on Gold Band Records, a small independent label. While she was in school, she had already established herself on the local scene. But her dream was to to perform at a much bigger size. The singer moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Her first charting records for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for female performers to perform on his show syndicated by him in the years prior to this. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing in 1969 with RCA Records. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's Show because the success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their partnership with Wagoner was the one to write I Will Always Love You and made it to Number. The first time in 1974.
