Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also a writer. She's co-founder as well as the CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has been the TV host, journalist writer, television philanthropist and author for more than 10 years. In addition, she is the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online newsmagazine. From Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England along with her family members at age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The first graduate of non-UK origin to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. She was a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and, when The Huffington Post launched a few years following, she launched an online voice platform which provided criticisms of political situations. It was her celebrity that brought in a variety of famous contributors who shared their opinions on news, politics and the arts. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003, when she ran as an independent candidate in the recall contest in California in order to take over the position of Governor Davis. In addition, she led a Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. Forbes listed her as the 12th most influential female in the media industry in 2009 and Guardian also included her on the list of Top 100 media during the same year. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this group of media. The acquisition included numerous AOL brands at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. She was extremely close to her father. However, it was her relationship with her mother that shaped her. She displayed leadership qualities even in her early years. She moved to England at age 16 to complete her schooling and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college and was the third and first female to be elected the president. She graduated in 1972 with her master's degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic and hosting a show on TV. Additionally, she was a guest along with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editing assistance.
